Changes to your tenancy

The tenancy agreement is the legal contract between you and Cornerstone which you signed before moving into your home. It is an important document which describes your rights and responsibilities as a tenant, and ours as your landlord.

Your tenancy is divided into two parts; the main agreement, and the rules and regulations. You must keep to the terms set out in both parts. There are two copies of your agreement; one that we hold as your landlord, and one you would have been given to keep. We use several different types of tenancies, more information on these can be found in our Tenancy Policy, which is available on our website.

Your tenancy agreement has further details on;
• our responsibilities as your landlord
• how you should behave as a tenant and neighbour
• how you should look after your home
• paying your rent
• our right of entry to your home
• leaving your home temporarily and permanently
• under and over-occupation of your home
• sub-letting and lodgers
• working from home
• what happens upon your death or that of a joint tenant (succession)
• how you can end your tenancy.

Apart from changes to your rent and service charges, any changes to your tenancy must be by agreement between all the parties, you and us. This includes adding or removing joint tenants unless it is by way of a Court Order. If you have lost your tenancy agreement, or wish to know more about the tenancy you have or the terms in it, please contact us and we will be happy to help you
