How we can help

Domestic violence or abuse can take many forms from actual acts of violence to behaviour which is emotionally or psychologically abusive. This can affect women and men of any age, from any religion or culture or in same sex relationships.

You are not alone, there are many services that can support all people who are affected by domestic abuse.

Please be assured that any information will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We also work in conjunction with partner agencies to help people affected by domestic violence and abuse to feel safe and secure when they choose to remain in their home. If you are affected by any of these issues, please contact us.

We are committed to supporting people who have suffered domestic abuse and have signed up to the Chartered Institute of Housing’s (CIH) Make a Stand campaign. This requires housing providers to put in place four actions by agreeing to the CIH pledge which can be viewed here.

1. Our domestic abuse policy has been designed to take a victim centred approach to support victims and witnesses who report incidents of domestic abuse.

2. We have created a page on our website with details of support services which can be contacted free of charge you help anyone who is affected by domestic violence. Click here to view our how to report domestic violence page.

3. We are in the process of reviewing our existing policies, and plan to include information on how we can support members of staff who may be experiencing domestic abuse. These are due to be complete early 2022.

4. We have appointed our Senior Housing Officer as our ‘Domestic Abuse lead’ and they will record and monitor all cases of domestic abuse along with supporting anyone affected.
