Breaching Government Restrictions

Your concerns about people breaching Government restrictions

We understand that these are worrying times and you may be concerned about other Cornerstone residents not keeping to new restrictions on movement and gatherings as part of the Governments response to Covid-19.

The restrictions are very clear and we would like to reiterate that all residents should keep to them for the safety and wellbeing of all.

If your report relates to a gathering or movement which is illegal, we will expect this offence to be dealt with via the Police in the first instance and Cornerstone will then consider our response to this under the relevant clause of the tenancy.  If you report concerns to us, we will take them seriously but please bear in mind that we can only take enforcement action if we can evidence someone is breaching their tenancy, which is the legal contact between us.

A breach of tenancy could be taking place if someone is causing a nuisance or if they are using their property for an immoral or illegal purpose.

We will be following our normal procedures in relation to complaints that we receive which means if a nuisance is reported, such as noise, we will expect you to work with us to provide evidence that we can assess, this is usually via detailed logs that you record and provide to us.

We ask all residents to bear in mind the safety and wellbeing of their neighbours, those in their community and our staff.

Finally, please try to be mindful of the impact that noise can have on others, some of whom may be vulnerable, isolated or struggling at the moment. Please also try to understand that living in a lockdown is challenging for all, try to be patient, tolerant and nice to each other.

Thank you
