Damp and Mould

Ensuring our homes are healthy and safe for residents is our highest priority.

We encourage residents to report any signs of damp and mould as early as possible so we can investigate the cause and take appropriate action.

  • 207 resolved within in this year (some cases reported in previous year)

Actions taken to address damp and mould issues included:

  • Affected areas were treated with mould wash.
  • Extractor fans were inspected and replaced where necessary.
  • Loft insulation was checked and upgraded as required.

Turned out to not be damp and mould 207 resolved within in this year (some cases reported in previous year) Each report is handled on a case-by-case basis to ensure tailored support for our residents.

When residents contact us to report damp and mould we will

Work in partnership with residents to resolve issues of damp and mould in their home. This will include advising them on ways to reduce condensation and excess moisture within their home. We might use technology and intelligent data collection methods to provide feedback and advice eg use data loggers, provide hygrometers, use thermal imaging etc.

We will also:

  • ensure that we treat tenants reporting damp and mould with respect and empathy and that each case is treated in a fair and consistent way.
  • comply with the findings of Housing Ombudsman Spotlight report on damp and mould as far as reasonably practicable.
  • comply with statutory requirements and good practice.
  • make sure the fabric of our homes are protected from deterioration and damage resulting from damp and mould.

How to report damp and mould

All problems with your home should be reported as soon as possible, this allows us to intervene at an early point. Please give us clear information on the damp and mould within your property, the following information will help us assess the situation quicker.

  • The room and locations of the damp and mould
  • How long it has been within the property
  • Send pictures of the area
  • Any health conditions or vulnerabilities in the house hold that could be being affected
