Resident Engagement Panel Annual Update
Our Resident Engagement Panel, known as REP, is a group of residents who review Cornerstone’s services, policies and communications.
During 2026, the panel helped make sure residents’ views were considered when services were reviewed and decisions were made. Members also attended community events, visited neighbourhoods and spoke to residents about what matters to them.
Changes to the panel
There have been several changes to REP this year.
Tina became Chair and has contributed to the work of the Board. Gary took on the role of Vice Chair, and Dee joined as a full panel member.
REP now meets every other month, on the last Wednesday of the month. The panel is also looking at more flexible ways for residents to take part.
What the panel reviewed
During 2026, REP reviewed and commented on a wide range of policies, services and resident information.
This included:
- Domestic abuse
- Parking management
- Communal services
- Mutual exchanges
- Anti-social behaviour
- Pets
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- The Tenant Handbook
- Service charges
- Our Customer Strategy
- Tenant Satisfaction Measures
- Our Disposal Policy
- Neighbourhood management
- Resident engagement
- Accessibility
- Complaints and learning
- Consumer Standards
The panel also shared feedback with the Board and helped Cornerstone understand where services and communications could be improved. The items above are not a complete list, as additional subjects were regularly added to REP meeting agendas.
Working in our communities
REP members have taken part in several community activities during 2025/26. These gave the panel opportunities to meet residents, listen to feedback and learn more about different neighbourhoods.
Activities included:
- Two community garden projects
- Meet the Team event at Custom House
- Beacon Avenue Community Day and community clean-up
- Conversations with residents before the Beacon Avenue event
- Family event and art workshops
- Two estate tours
At the Beacon Avenue Community Day, residents, colleagues and partners worked together on a community clean-up. Residents also took part in art workshops connected to the community mural planned by artist Steve McCracken.
Recruitment and training
REP has continued to grow and develop.
Following a recruitment campaign, 12 residents expressed an interest in joining. Four continued their interest in becoming members or exploring other ways to get involved.
Panel members have also started completing health and safety training and have completed a scrutiny skills assessment. This will help identify further training and support for members.
What REP will focus on next
The panel’s planned areas of work include:
- Exploring more ways for residents to get involved
- Mental health support
- Consumer Standards
- Tenant Satisfaction Measures
- Continuing to review policies, services and resident communications
- Strengthening the connection between residents and the Board
- Supporting further community engagement.
REP will continue to help Cornerstone understand residents’ priorities and involve residents earlier when policies, strategies and services are being developed.
