Helping us shape our approach to home disposals
Launched 28/04/2026
We are currently developing a policy that will guide how we manage and make decisions about the homes we own in the future. As part of this work, we want to hear directly from residents.
The policy will look at whether, how and when some homes might be sold (disposed of). This could include, in some cases, homes that are currently lived in by residents. However, at the moment we are only considering one property for sale, which is empty.
No decisions have been made.
We are at an early stage, and this consultation is about understanding residents’ perspectives before the policy is finalised.
Why are we asking for your views?
We believe that any policy about selling homes should be informed by the views of the people most affected. Your feedback will help us shape a clear, fair and transparent approach.
We are particularly interested in your views on:
- What principles should guide decisions about selling homes
- What matters most to residents if a home were ever considered for disposal
- How and when residents should be consulted and informed
- What support or reassurances residents would expect
Your views will help ensure the policy reflects residents’ experiences and concerns.
What this means for you
Taking part in this consultation does not mean your home will be sold and choosing whether or not to respond will not affect your tenancy or the services you receive.
Any future decisions about disposal would:
- Follow the agreed policy
- Comply with all legal requirements and resident protections
- Be communicated clearly and in good time
Residents would always be informed and supported if their home were ever affected.
