Before and after! Beacon Ave & Cleve Rd flats are the first to have new thermally insulated doors fitted.

An overview of Cornerstone Housing Ltd.

Cornerstone has a long established history in the City as Exeter’s first housing association and we remain the largest in Exeter. This year we are celebrating 85 years of providing high quality social housing.
We have been based at 18 Southernhay East in Exeter for over 50 years but next year we will move around the corner to a new purpose built office off Western Way. This will accomodation our future expansion whilst still being easily accessible to visitors.
Our Chief Executive is Rick Williams who has been with Cornerstone since 1985 and is well known to all of the staff and many of our tenants.
We are a financially strong housing association, as our accounts will demonstrate, and we are registered with the Homes & Communities Agency. We have an annual development programme of circa 30 units.
Our current housing stock is over 1,300 units. The stock is maintained and modernised in-house by our Direct Labour Force of 40 staff. Being a local housing association, we are able to provide an excellent housing service. We have a Tenants’ Panel and Tenant Board member to represent the views of the tenants and form part of our consultation on projects and key decisions.
We enjoy a good working relationship with Exeter City Council’s Planning, Building Control and Housing Departments. We also work in partnership with Teignbridge DC, East Devon DC and Mid Devon DC as well as other local housing organisations.
