Your Rights

Your Right to Notice

Residents also have the right to receive notice of a proposed visit to carry out repairs or maintenance, or to view the condition and state of repair of their home.

We will always give you notice before we visit your home, except in an emergency. We will tell you the date and time of the visit and who will be coming.

Rights for Disabled Tenants

Our disabled residents have the right to reasonable adjustments in relation to their home and the services we provide. Please see our Aids and Adaptations policy for more information.

This could include things like installing grab rails, lowering kitchen worktops or providing information in different formats. If you need adjustments to help you live independently in your home, please contact us.

Right to Manage

This is a process which, in certain circumstances, allows leaseholders of a block of flats to take over the management of their building from the landlord without having to buy the freehold.

Please contact us for further information at mail@cornerstonehousing.net.

Useful information can also be found here on the Leasehold Advisory Service website.

Other Rights You Have

  • Be treated fairly and with respect
  • Have your repairs completed within the timescales we set out
  • Make a complaint if you’re not happy with our service
  • Request information we hold about you
  • Be consulted on changes that affect you
