Resident Engagement Panel

Have Your Say and Help Shape Our Services

Our Resident Engagement Panel is made up of resident volunteers who together as a group independently review the different areas of service we provide. Meetings are held at 3.30pm on the first Wednesday of every month at our Western Way offices, but can be accessed remotely on request.

We have different panels which residents can join.

The panel review Cornerstone’s policies on a wide variety of policies.  Another important role of the panel is to review the information we make available to residents, such as leaflets and website content, to make sure it is accessible. If there is a particular review that you would be interested in, you are welcome to join for this review only if you don’t want to make a long term commitment to the panel.

Ways You Can Get Involved

  • Scrutiny Panel (also known as Resident Engagement Panel)

    Meets the first Wednesday at 3.30pm, every month, at our Western Way office. We can arrange transport to and from the meeting at our expense. You can also join online. We can provide you with the technology and training to take part in scrutiny. We can arrange for you to join us for a meeting and decide whether this is something you would like to do.

  • Estate Champions

    You can become the voice for people living on your estate. We can promote your new role and agree how residents on your estate can contact you about issues they may be experiencing. These issues can be raised with the Housing and Customer Engagement Manager, who can feed this information to the Resident Engagement Panel and provide updates and discuss solutions with you.

  • Email Eagles

    You can agree to accept surveys and questions via email, feedback concerns about where you live and offer feedback on new policies or any changes we propose to make to policies.

  • Facebook

    Our Panel members have created a Facebook group for residents to join to ask them any questions directly. Click here to join.

Who Are Our Resident Engagement Panel?

We recognise the importance of our residents’ views and believe they are essential in our decision-making process. We seek to make sure our services are open, transparent and available for resident scrutiny. Below are our current members.

I was asked if would be interested in joining the panel in 2022 as I was newly retired. I am finding it both interesting and a challenge, listening to a residents side of the story and their concerns, trying to help is often a delicate balancing act.

I am glad I joined, the meetings are enjoyable, rewarding and worthwhile, the group have achieved so much in changing Cornerstones outlook regarding residents over time, and we are a close group reviewing Cornerstone’s policies and suggesting ways to help both tenants and Cornerstone succeed, with the full support of the board of directors, making life smoother for all of us.”
