How You Can Help Prevent Anti-Social Behaviour
Working Together to Keep Our Communities Safe
Early intervention is very important and we ask that you contact us as soon as possible if you have any concerns.
Anti-social behaviour affects everyone in the community. By being considerate of your neighbours and taking some simple steps, you can help prevent problems before they start. If issues do arise, there are things you can do to help resolve them quickly.
Here are some things we suggest you do to prevent anti-social behaviour:
- We advise you to carpet floors if you live in an upstairs flat to stop sound transference
- Let your neighbours know in advance if you are planning a party and be mindful of the noise you might cause others
- Be vigilant and keep any security gates in your area closed
- You may be able to take your own action by speaking to Citizens Advice or the Local Authority
What to Do if You Are Experiencing Anti-Social Behaviour
- Politely raise the issue with the other party, if safe to do so – often people do not realise they are causing a nuisance
- Keep a record of dates, times and details of any incidents
- Contact us if you are unable to resolve the issue yourself
- Contact the Police, if any crime has been or about to be committed – Click here to complete the Devon and Cornwall Police Online reporting crime form.
