We are over the moon here at Cornerstone as yesterday we were able to present one of our charities of 2019 with a cheque for £1286.73!!  FORCE Cancer Charity have an unwavering commitment to improving patient care by funding research and innovation and we could not be happier to of been able to support such an outstanding cause. Well done to everyone involved!

FORCE (Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre, Exeter) became a charity in 1987 and has grown steadily ever since. In 2004 they opened a purpose-built Cancer Support and Information Centre, thanks to more than £900,000 raised by local people and the tireless work of the FORCE team. A £350,000 extension to the Centre was opened in 2012, allowing them to support even more people affected by cancer.

FORCE has never lost sight of its origins and core belief that people deserve the best possible support and treatment, face to face and close to home. In 2014 they began providing services in Tiverton and Okehampton and in 2018 extended that outreach programme to include Honiton. They also fund the delivery of chemotherapy in all three towns.

The work of FORCE relies entirely on voluntary contributions with their income coming from fundraising events, their local charity shop in Heavitree and from donations and legacies. The generosity of individuals, companies, grant-making bodies and their charity shop to fund local cancer research, their cancer support and information centres and the purchase of state of the art equipment to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment.
