Norwood House refurbishment - a job well done!

Cornerstone’s Chief Executive, Rick Williams, recently joined our improvements team in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the successful renovation of Norwood House in Exeter.

Our dedicated in-house improvements team, made up of 16 skilled tradespersons, started work on this four-storey City Centre property back in October 2016… and they’ve been working full time to modernise all 26 flats ever since!

A scheme for tenants over 60 years of age, Norwood House has been transformed by a full modernisation, including the construction of a mobility scooter store, a new heating system and sound proofing. Each flat was fitted with a new kitchen and bathroom, with tenants having the choice of a shower, bath or wet room to suit their needs.

Tenants both new and old have been eagerly moving into their transformed flats in recent weeks. Debbie, a longstanding resident of Norwood House, said “It’s so lovely being back. I’m really pleased with the flat – it looks so nice!”

Norwood House is the most recent in a rolling programme of modernisation works provided by Cornerstone, ensuring our properties continue to meet good standards of quality. The next project will take the team to Exwick to modernise some of our oldest housing.
