Moving Home
When you leave your property, Cornerstone will expect you to leave it in a clean and lettable condition. If we need to carry out any work after you have left that is your responsibility as a tenant, you will be recharged with the cost.
The following information is to tell you how the Association expects you to leave the property. If you have any queries on this, please talk to your housing officer.
- All carpets and items of furniture to be removed on departure unless you have an agreement with the incoming tenant or your housing officer. If items are left behind without agreement you will be charged for the cost of their disposal.
- All items that are the property of the Society, such as bins, washing lines, heaters, where provided, must be left.
- All fixtures and fittings to be clean including flooring, sanitary ware, woodwork, windows, and cupboards.
- The garden and external areas to be left tidy and free of debris.
- Any damage that has been caused by the tenant is to be repaired prior to vacating. This includes damage to walls caused by picture fixings, shelving, holes to internal doors, etc.
- Any alterations that have been made without the knowledge or consent of the Society must be remedied or the tenant may be liable for paying for this work.
- All keys must be returned to the Society as arranged with the housing officer. Please note that delay in returning the keys will make you liable for further rent.
- If you do not leave the property in an acceptable clean and lettable condition we will re-charge you for the work.
