It is a legal requirement that the Association's gas appliances are checked and serviced every year. In order to achieve this there is an annual cycle of gas servicing that commences every October.
We try to give advanced warning that we shall be visiting an area or estate. Our engineers will then call a few days later in order to make arrangements to either carry out the work there and then, or at another mutually convenient time. If the tenant is not at home a ticket will be put through the letterbox requesting that the tenant telephone the Maintenance Depot to make an appointment.
If this fails to attract the attention of the tenant then a series of letters will be issued until an appointment is arranged. Should this not meet with success then a court order will be sought in order to gain entry to the property.
The administrative and legal costs of processing properties that are difficult to access are other factors that further exacerbate the cost of home rental. Remember that Cornerstone must service all gas appliances under its ownership annually.
